Editorial policy
Global County Journal aims to explain county geography accurately and with appropriate context. We distinguish clear description from interpretation, make corrections when needed and label paid or partner material so readers can tell what they are reading.
Accuracy and context
We check factual statements against appropriate sources before publication and take care with names, boundaries and geographical descriptions. Where a term has more than one use or a feature needs context, we say so rather than implying that one explanation fits every place. We do not present an uncertain interpretation as settled fact.
Independence and partnerships
Editorial decisions remain separate from commercial arrangements. Any paid, sponsored or partner content is clearly labelled as such. A partnership or placement does not guarantee editorial coverage, and partner material is not presented as independent editorial work.
Corrections
If a reader spots a factual error or misleading description, they can send details through the Contact page. We review correction requests and amend published material when warranted, making the nature of a substantive correction clear to readers.
Illustrations
Some illustrations may be generated with artificial intelligence. Illustrations are not evidence for geographical claims, and we take care not to present an illustrative image as a documentary view of a specific place.
A county is more than a boundary
Land, names, settlements and routes all help make a place legible. We look at how those parts relate without treating any one feature as the whole story.
